Drift is not always failure
People move, grieve, parent, work, burn out, fall in love, recover, and disappear into seasons that have nothing to do with how much they care.
A drift signal should feel like information, not accusation. The goal is to notice distance while the next step can still be gentle.
Look for quiet signs
You may notice that a person has moved from weekly contact to occasional reactions, from real plans to vague "soon," or from mutual sharing to updates only when something big happens.
Those signals do not require a grand repair. They simply invite a smaller question: what would make this thread easy to reopen?
Reopen gently
Try a message that does not demand a full catch-up: "This made me think of you. No pressure to reply quickly. I just wanted to say I remember that time warmly."
If the relationship needs more care, choose a normal next step before a brave one. A walk or short voice note may work better than a heavy conversation.
Where Orbit fits
Orbit makes drift visible enough to help without turning friendship into a score, streak, or guilt loop.
